Journal Entry 3: Hurricane Hanna

Posted by RonnieJMusic - July 30th, 2020

Good evening, all!

Tis time for another journal update. Oh boy, it was an eventful (and eventless) past few days. I was in the very center of Hurricane Hanna, which recently passed through South Texas. The Eye of Hurricane Hanna passed through Port Mansfield and then Raymondville, TX, which is where I currently live. We experienced torrential rain and Max wind gusts of 106MPH (Max sustained 90MPH, near Category 2 status). The storm did some damage to my apartment but nothing too major. We lost power for about three days, which came back on yesterday. I had slept in my car the previous two nights to escape the heat. Only today have I regained internet and phone service. My family, friends and loved ones and I are alright, no injuries occurred. That being said, it was nice to step away from technology for a while and clear my head of everything. I visited my parents where I got to play lots of rounds of Chess, Sorry and other board games. I didn’t realize how disconnected I was from

the rest of my family where my normal day would consist of working from home, an hour of gaming, daily Insanity workout and then going to sleep. With things returning to normal here, it’s looking like that routine will return sooner rather than later. I have to be sure to make more time for family too. Cherish the ones you love, especially as this hurricane could’ve been much worse than it actually was.
